Tariku Assefa Soboka, MD
About
Dr. Tariku Assefa Soboka is a consultant anesthesiologist and intensivist at Axon Ethiopian First Stroke Center and St. Paul’s Millennium Medical College Hospital in Addis Ababa.
He has played a key role in ICU development and training across Ethiopia, working with the Ministry of Health and hospitals like Aksum Referral Hospital and Adama Hospital Medical College to enhance critical care services. He has also served as a lecturer at Addis Ababa University, a consultant anesthesiologist at AAU School of Medicine, and a former executive committee member of the Ethiopian Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Tariku completed his medical degree and postgraduate training at Addis Ababa University, followed by a fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine at CMC Hospital in Vellore, India. He is certified in disaster management (DEMAT Ethiopia) and has presented at multiple scientific conferences.
As Director of International Partnerships at GHEP, he plays a vital role in fostering global collaborations to advance critical care training and healthcare capacity in resource-limited settings.
