Kati Belina

About

Kati Belina EMT, is a student at the University of Minnesota pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She is currently an Event EMT for Fairview MHealth part-time, as well as a regular volunteer at the MHealth Fairview Clinics and Research Center. She participates in research in the Banek Lab in Electroneurophysiology for Polycystic Kidney Disease and hypertension on animal models. Kati also manages the finances as the Co-Treasurer of the Oromo Student Union cultural club, which hosts a variety of cultural events at UMN. She is the event coordinator for the UMN Lifeline Club, which provides events for students interested in learning more about emergency medicine including different applicable skills that can be used in real world scenarios. Additionally Kati is a small group leader for Black Campus Ministries that meets weekly to discuss the Word and grow in community through Christ, as well as a Sunday school teacher for Ebenezer Evangelical Oromo Church.

Kati is passionate about doing as much for her community as possible and has lots of experience doing hands-on work for the people in underserved communities. She continues to show a deep devotion to global health equity and is working with Global Health Initiative to bridge the gap between the underserved and medical care.
