About

Bill has been a respiratory therapist for over twenty-five years and has been at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for the last 10 years. Bill received his respiratory therapy education at St Paul College and went on to receive his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Concordia University in St Paul, Minnesota. Bill’s educational experiences include 10 years as a Clinical Instructor at St Paul College, 7 years as the Associate Program Director of the Mayo Clinic Respiratory Therapy Program and currently as a Clinical Specialist in Education in the Respiratory Therapy Department in Rochester Minnesota. He has served as the Vice President of the Minnesota Society for Respiratory Care and the Chair of the Clinicians Advisory Committee for the American Thoracic Society. Bill is currently serving on the Critical Care Assembly Planning Committee and the Learning Steering Committee for the ATS.

He has also contributed to global respiratory education, helping to create an online mechanical ventilator course and traveling to Adama, Ethiopia, to train ICU nurses on ventilator management. Committed to advancing critical care in low-resource settings, he continues to support training initiatives in Ethiopia and beyond as part of GHEP’s mission to strengthen healthcare capacity worldwide.
